Donations

We have now got a button for any donations for the Barn Owl Group. Please don’t feel like you have to donate – but all donations are more than welcome. Thank you for your support!

Barn Owl Screech

We recently did a presentation for the Tameside Countryside Service although our Barn Owl Screech sound wasn’t working properly. If you would like to hear this sound, please click on the link below.

Barn Owl Calling

Please ensure you have your speakers on to hear this sound. Its a very haunting noise.

B & Q One Planet Living Awards

As a group, we have been up and running for over 2 years now. Last year we applied for funding from B&Q One Planet Living Awards but were refused.

We applied again this year and we have been succesfull!!! We have won £2000 vouchers from B&Q to buy products that will help us in our activities.
2009 Winners

Please click the above link to see our name on the 2009 Winners list.

We are very happy about this and now need to find a list of things to spend our £2000 on in B&Q.

Here is a link to the B&Q website which provides more information on the One Planet Living Awards and how your local environmental group can apply.

Thank you B&Q!!!

Medlock and Tame Valley Conservation Association

The presentation we did on Tuesday night was for the Medlock and Tame Valley Conservation Association. Information about this group can be found on the following website: http://www.medlockandtame.org.uk/.

They do excellent work relating to the conservation of the environment in the Medlock and Tame Valley and the surrounding areas, both urban and rural.

Please visit their website and download an membership application form to support the work they do.

First PEBOG presentation

Last night, PEBOG did their very first public presentation for the Tameside and Medlock Conservation Group. Each member of the group presented a slide each in front of about 15 people. It was a very successful event and i think we even got a few new members from it.

All in all it was very successful. We managed to inform the listeners that the noise of a Barn Owl is completely different to a Tawny Owl. A Tawny Owl “hoots” whereas a Barn Owl “screeches”. You can definitely tell the difference between the two.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any news or sightings of Barn Owls in your area.

Membership and how you can help

If you would like to become a member of the Pennine Edge Barn Owl Group, there is a page detailing membership fees.

How Can You Help?

If you would also like to donate to the Barn Owl Trust you can write a cheque made payable to Pennine Edge Barn Owl Group

Updates

After upgrading the version of WordPress, i have now upgraded some of the plugins that are available. The most useful one that i have found is a mobile version of wordpress. So if, like me, you have a mobile device that connects to the internet, you will now be able to access all the information in the pebog website on your device. Just go to www.pebog.org.uk. The page will display in a format suitable to whatever handheld device you are using…. even a PSP!!

If you have any problems, please get in touch. Thanks!

Redirection

Hi,

If you have reached this page in error (ie in trying to access www.westpenninesbarnowltrust.org) you have come to the right page. I have just put a redirect in on the old website so you will automatically be transferred to this page. The old west pennines barn owl trust homepage is slowly being killed off so now all traffic should come to this homepage.

The reason for this change is that we were originally called the West Pennines Barn Owl Trust, although some of our members discussed that we weren’t actually in the West Pennines.

Thank you for your patience and please contact us if you experience any problems.

Regards

Johnny
